LED vs. Halogen Lighting

LED Assembly Trans

Note Longer Life /Lower Cost

The technology used for LED’s is very robust since there are no filaments that can be impacted by vibration, shock, heat, dust or surface oils. Available in both non-hazardous and explosion-proof lighting fixtures.

Lamp Life Expectancy Comparison

35,000 – 40,000 hour LED lamp life versus 1,000 – 2,000 lamp life for halogen (Figure 1) under continuous operation (approx 4 ½ years for the LED) which significantly reduces labor cost to re-lamp and associated downtime.

Line Break

Bullet Point LED’s emit as much light intensity (Candle Power and Lumen) as a 100 Watt Halogen Bulb (see figure 2) and the color is bright white (High Color Temp).

However, they do not generate excess heat which is one of the main reasons standard halogen lamps burn out prematurely. Due to their limited heat generation, they can be operated continuously without the fixture housing getting hot.
